Executive Director

Position
Reporting to the Chairperson of the LHOI Board of Directors, the Executive Director (ED) will have overall strategic and operational responsibility for LHOl’s staff, programs, expansion, and execution of its mission. S/he will initially develop deep knowledge of field, core programs, operations and business plans. This position will also have responsibility for maintaining a strong linkage and interface with LHMBC-Senior Pastor.

Responsibilities
Leadership and Management:

  • Develop, maintain, and support a strong Board of Directors: serve as ex-officio of each Board committee, seek and build Board involvement with strategic direction and specific services and programs.
  • Ensure ongoing programmatic excellence, rigorous program evaluation, and consistent quality of finance and administration, fundraising, communications, and systems; recommend timelines and resources needed to achieve the strategic goals.
  • Actively engage and energize LHOl’s volunteers, board members, event committees, alumni, partnering organizations and funders.
  • Manage staff hiring, development and performance in conjunction with the Board.
  • Lead, coach, develop, and retain LHOI high-performance team; ensure effective systems to track progress, and regularly evaluate program components, so as to measure successes that can be effectively communicated to the board, funders, and other constituents.

Fundraising & Communications:

  • Expand local revenue generating and fundraising activities to support existing program operations
  • Deepen and refine all aspects of communications-from web presence to external relations with the goal of creating a stronger brand.
  • Develop and maintain an effective public relation and marketing strategy to develop community excitement about the programs and services to establish partnerships and obtain funding.
  • Use external presence and relationships to garner new funding and service opportunities.

Planning and New Business:

  • Design the growth plan and complete the strategic business planning process for the program expansion into new service areas.
  • Build partnerships in the community establishing relationships with the funders, and political and community leaders.
  • Be an external presence that publishes and communicates program results with an emphasis on the successes of the program as a model for new services and programs.

Qualifications

The ED will be thoroughly committed to LHOl’s mission. All candidates should have proven leadership, coaching, and relationship management experience. Concrete demonstrable experience and other qualifications include:

  • Advanced degree (preferred) with extensive experience as a senior manager; track record of effectively leading and scaling a performance and outcomes-based organization and staff; ability to point to specific examples of having developed and operationalized strategies that have taken an organization to the next stage of growth.
  • Unwavering commitment to quality programs and data-driven program evaluation
  • Excellence in organizational management with the ability to coach staff, manage, and develop high-performance teams, set and achieve strategic objectives, and manage a budget.
  • Past success working with a Board of Directors with the ability to cultivate existing board member relationships.
  • Strong marketing, public relations, and fundraising experience with the ability to engage a· wide range of stakeholders and cultures.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; a persuasive and passionate communicator with excellent interpersonal and multidisciplinary project skills.
  • Action-oriented entrepreneurial, adaptable, and innovative approach to business planning.
  • Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people.
  • Passion, Christian, (strong moral values/principles), integrity, positive attitude, mission-driven, and self-directed.

LHOI Application

ADULT DAY SERVICE:
Personal Care Aide

Summary

This position is responsible for providing quality direct personal care for participant while on the bus, during outing and while attending the day program in an environment that promotes their rights, dignity, freedom of choice, and individuality.

Duties

  • Personal Care Aide participates in interdisciplinary care conferences, assists participants with activities of daily living, and completes participant’s daily participation logs as assigned.
  • Personal Care Aide participates in planning, preparing, implementing, and evaluating day room activities and assists in the kitchen as needed, and serves participants meals, snacks and beverages.
  • Provides guidance to participants and gives emotional support to participants and assists with participants with bathroom needs.
  • Personal Care Aide has the duty of transportation driver transporting participant to and from the Adult Day Service Center.
  • Demonstrates a sense of teamwork and cooperation and performs other related duties as required/assigned.
  • Completes required task based training and continuing education training

Supervisory Relationship:
The Personal Care Aide reports directly to the ADS Director.

Supervises:
This position has no supervisory duties.

Minimum Education Requirement:
High School Diploma, GED, CPR and First Aid certified, Certified Nursing Assistant or related training/education preferred

Minimum Work Experience:
None. However, one year in a position requiring interaction with 60 and over population highly desirable. (nurse’s aide, nursing home food service, etc.).

Required Licenses:
None. Certified Nursing Assistant is highly preferred.

  • Possess basic computer skills
  • Demonstrates communication skills

ADULT DAY SERVICE:
Non-Emergency Medical Transportation Driver

Summary

Transporting participates to and from the Adult Service Center.
Duties:

  • Prior to driving, drivers must be trained on the vehicle, as well as route and must exhibit satisfactory to supervisor the ability to both control the vehicle and interact in a positive manner with the individuals being transported to and from the Center
  • Prior to driving the vehicle a pre trip inspection form must be completed
  • Driver shall possess ability to safely transfer consumer to and from vehicle. If in wheelchairs, safely load them onto the bus.
  • Must complete the route in a timely manner insuring that individuals arrive and depart the center as required
  • Insure safety of individuals by making sure they use their seatbelts. If needed, assist individuals in fastening their seatbelts.
  • Insure sufficient gas is in the van/bus at all times. Notify the Supervisor when gas is needed
  • Keep the van/bus clean and free of litter
  • Make sure van has safety equipment based on Pre trip inspection form
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by Supervisor

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age with a minimum of 2 years driving experience
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license
  • Must obtain and renew annually a driver’s abstract record through the bureau of motor vehicles. This abstract must show no more than 6 points and/or no six point convictions
  • Must supply a physician statement verifying physical ability to drive
  • Possess the ability to understand written and oral instructions
  • Must pass a drug and alcohol screening
  • Must pass the BCII Background Check
  • Complete online Passenger Assistance Safety Training
  • Must possess and maintain certification in First Aid and CPR
